Finish website research for all three claims by Tuesday. There will be time in class on Tuesday for researching from books. (Declaration of Independence Research Paper)

Root Quiz Wednesday (Roots Week 7)

Use a proper paragraph (Proper Paragraphs) to answer the following questions from chapter 4. Be sure to write a minimum of four sentences and include at least two pieces of specific information from the novel as evidence to support your claims:

  1. What was Tim’s problem as the chapter opens? How does his problem change?
  2. How does Tim convince Sam to come home?
  3. What problem does Sam face in this chapter? How does he handle it?

6th ELA: 

Write the words you missed on the spelling pretest five times each. Write the words on the same paper as the pretest or staple your five time each to the pretest. If you got 100%, turn your pretest back in for full credit on this assignment.

8th History:

Finish researching all three claims for your paper by Tuesday. (Declaration of Independence Research Paper)

8th ELA:

Vocabulary Card (write the definition, write a sentence using the word, and draw/color a picture on the front, write your name on the back)

Fictional journal entry from Jane Forbes’ point of view due Monday. Write a minimum of 4 sentences about each boy and include specific details from the novel to support how she feels.

Choose an issue and a position for it. Make sure your issue is related to the Declaration of Independence, and there is researchable evidence from credible sources to support the position you decide to take.

8th ELA:

Finish reading and taking notes on chapter two in My Brother Sam is Dead.

Reread the first chapter of My Brother Sam is Dead as necessary.  List three character traits for Tim and three for Sam. Cite specific evidence from the chapter for each trait.  Also, sketch the Meeker home and tavern. Use details from the book in your illustration.
